Please read the following CLARIFICATION after watching the video clip or reading the article on the ABC website:

JUST TO CLARIFY...The computer program can be licensed for home use from Dr. Rice for the very same price ($500) as if bought directly from the Brain Train website. The advantage of obtaining the program from Dr. Rice is that she is able to customize the software to meet the needs of each individual user based on which areas of functioning need improvement. Brain Train recommends that all users work with a trained clinician to customize the program so that they obtain maximum benefit. Dr. Rice offers a full in-office option that provides coaching during each session as well as a combined office and home package. The advantage of doing some if not all of the training at the office is the accompanying therapy and coaching. The special relationship that develops between the client and therapist or coach builds motivation, brings the computer games to life and helps with generalizing to other situations such as school, homework, chores and sports. A big thank you to Linda Hurtado for bringing this story to the attention of viewers.

Dr Rice,

Thought you might like to see Tim’s* report card for the first quarter. It is TERRIFIC!!!!!! He has a 3.86 average and is on the Honor Roll. Tim has been able to focus better in his classes and for tests. I personally believe that your computer program “Captain’s Log" has been responsible for this and his easy transition to 5th grade. This year he has a locker to keep organized and 8 different teachers. He has been able to manage himself and his homework assignments and that is a huge difference from last year. He still has some moments that lack focus in class but when it is brought to his attention he uses the skills he learned from "Captains Log" this summer and is able to refocus on the teacher or assignment. It was well worth the cost of the program. The best part about "Captains Log" was that unlike the prescriptions we tried, it had no bad side effects. I feel that now that he has learned to focus, it is a skill that he will stay with him for the rest of his life. Thank you so much.

With all the school and homework issues he had last year, I have been excited with his response to all the challenges of 5th grade. He says 5th grade is "way better" than 4th.

Camrin's success with the Captain's Log program was amazing. His ability to focus and stay on task has improved significantly and his frustration level has been drastically reduced. No longer is homework a dreaded part of our night! His teachers, coaches and Scout leaders have noticed a huge improvement saying that Camrin is no longer a distraction to himself or his peers. His test taking abilities have improved as well as his class participation. Captain's Log has given Camrin the tools and ability to control his impulsivity and allowed him to become more productive and happy young man. Thank you, Dr. Rice and Amy!

After completing the Captain's Log program, our son's ability to write extended papers and essays improved dramatically. He is also able to stay focused in the classroom.

Parents of 8th Grader

I know my memory has gotten better because I totally would have forgotten to give you the note today from my mom, get my shorts out of the car and build in enough time to get food before SAT prep. It is easier to remember to do things and I can remember things without having to try as hard to remember them. I am also finding it much easier to read "boring things" like this 2300 page AP Lit book! Thank you so much for suggesting that I do Captain's Log.

Jeremy enjoys his BrainTrain exercises. He started with the program the summer between first and second grade. We see an improvement in his confidence and believe that the program has impacted his schoolwork significantly. He is now on-level in all of his second grade subjects.
